The listed camcorders have two Remote control ports that allow the following functions can be controlled remotely:

Start / stop, zoom, zoom speed, Focus, aperture and shutter auto on / off.

Panasonic does not use the Sony LANC, but a separate remote Control interface and so can various functions with a very simple Circuit can be realized.

The following instructions describe how to with a soldering iron and a few passive components realize a low-cost remote control can.

All components are in the electronics store Relate to (shop or mail order) and have for about 30 to 40 euros.

Liste des composants :

Résistances:
2 x 1 k ohms
2 x 100 k ohms
1 x 10 k ohms
Potentiomètres:
2 x 10 k ohm linéaire
2 x 22 k ohm linéaire
4 x knobs
Boutons:
X 2 black buttons
1 red x button
interrupteur:
1 x toggle switch
Jacks:
1 x 4-pin 3.5 mm jack
1 x 3-pin 2.5 mm jack
Autres:
1 x 8-pin cable, 8 feet long
1 x plastic
1 x 8-pin connector
Various Remote Control Connections

The start / stop and zoom function on a 3-pin 2.5 mm jack realized. Focus, Iris and auto-aperture on a 4-pin, 3.5 mm jack controlled. Both connectors are at one end of an 8-pin, about 7.5 meter long cable soldered. One of the eight wires is then not required. On the other side of the 8-pin is Connector soldered. The 50-foot cable is used for interconnecting balance within the housing. That Housing should be large enough at 4 pots, 3 buttons, a switch and the 8-pin Connector included. After editing of the housing (drilling, filing and fitting of Controls) will be the jack with the remaining components, as in the following Illustrated schematics, soldering:

Cables from the small, 3-pin jack:

Lies between A and C (mass) of red start / stop buttons, between B and C is the zoom function on the two black buttons and corresponding Discrete control. The two 10 k ohm potentiometer adjust the zoom speed. The two ranges from 0 to k ohms 10 k ohm and 10 k ohm to 20 k Ohms thereby determine the zoom direction.

Cable from the large, 4-pin jack:

Between D and A (mass) is the toggle switch for the auto-iris Operation. Is between B and A, according to the adjacent Resistance, the focus is set and between C and A Aperture set. Effective Range is between about 1 k Ohm and 19 k ohms (Hence the 1 k Ohm series resistor and the 100 k Ohm shunt. Both Resistors are not really necessary to enlarge, but the
Sensitivity range of the potentiometer.)

Anyone who wants to realize a very fine adjustment, which can also easily between A and B, respectively between A and C, depending on a precision multi-course Poti (about 5 set x as expensive). Which there is for example 10 Corridors, i.e. depending on how many work rotations you want, you can 20 k ohms (effective (area about 9 turns), 50 k ohms about 3.6 turns), or 100 k ohms (about 1.8 turns) Precision multiturn-potentiometers use.

So, that's it, reconstruct much fun.

Is everything ready, the remote control can be tested. It should be noted that the zoom button on the camera to power and not on hand must stand.
