A few of us have been waiting rather patiently for a DivX Player for Mac to arrive. Sure, we've been playing DivX movies through QuickTime with only a moderate number of difficulties, but I think I speak for a lot of Mac loving DivX enthusiasts when I say that the time was ripe for a real DivX Player for Mac. One with a sleek DivX interface and all the extras and goodies the Windows folks have been rubbing in our faces for (ahem) a while now. Drum roll please. Announcing the brand spanking new, best ever (and first ever), official (though still beta) DivX Player for Mac!

The new Mac player is available from DivX Labs, our advanced research and development site. While we feel this release is relatively stable, like all beta products, the DivX Player for Mac may contain bugs. Should you encounter one, please report it to the development team on DivX Labs


DivX Converter 6.1.1 for Windows

The new DivX Converter 6.1.1 for Windows 2K/XP delivers the same elegant simplicity you've come to expect from this little tool, but with a few new tweaks and features. Version 6.1.1 of the DivX Converter introduces controls for resizing videos. It also permits you to change encoding bitrates for greater control and now allows you to specify the exact output file size in order to create videos that fit to disc.


DivX Codec 6.1.1 for Windows

If you've been testing the Windows codec betas on DivX Labs, you won't be too surprised by any of the new features in the DivX codec 6.1.1. The DivX codec 6.1.1 for Windows features improved B-frame decision making, improved rate control for very high bitrates and improvements to the encoder for Japanese translations as well as several additional minor optimizations and bug fixes.


DivX Player 6.1.1 for Windows

Besides incorporating the new DivX codec 6.1.1, the latest full release of the DivX Player for Windows, version 6.1.1, introduces optimizations for faster startup times and a new default skin which allows you to hide both the media manager and burning panes. This release also includes an important bug fix for Japanese language operating systems.
